| New Year - New Mission!
2007-01-04
Well, it is 2007 and as hard as that is to believe, it means a few new plans for hunting and fishing.
With rabbit season in until February 28th and Trout fishing right on the heals of that (at least that's the order for me), winter and early spring just bring a ton of exciting opportunities.
Join us in the forum to learn about folks experiences from those rabbit fields to places such as the Cranberry and Williams rivers.

With us in the middle of hunting season, folks tend to have many questions about rules and regulations related to hunting the West Virginia hills. Along with our search engine which assists with very specific searches of select sites, please remember that the West Virginia DNR provides answers to many of the common questions on their Frquently Asked Questions (FAQ) page.
One thing that each of us can do to protect our hunting privileges is to abide by the rules and act as responsible hunters. So, if you have questions, either use our search engine or visit the WV DNR FAQ page for more information.

| 2006 Rifle Season
2006-11-16
With Buck Season starting on November 20th, the 2006 rifle season for Whitetail promises to be an exciting time for hunters.
Early monday morning, many of us will be meeting on the edge of farms, in secluded hunting cabins, or in parking lots next to some of West Virginia's wonderful public hunting land.
Hopefully, over the course of those first few days of season, many of us will also find ourselves successful in our quest.
Here at Chief's Place, we want to take a minute to remind everyone to be safe this year. Always be aware of where you are shooting, use caution getting in and out of tree stands, and generally use common sense.
Hopefully, we'll hear some great stories from our members in the forum come next week. Until then, good luck!

| Not the Store
2006-10-29
Because there has been some confusion. Let me clarify. CHIEFS-PLACE.COM is not currently owned by the Chief's Place store that use to be in Winfield, WV.
At one point, this domain was owned by those fine folks but unfortunately those original owners closed Chief's and I believe there is another store in it's place now.
Our web hosting company simply renewed the domain and after Chief's did not re-open, elected to put this site up in it's place.

| Our Customized Search Engine
2006-10-26
Using the new Google Customized Search Engine, we have been able to begin building a fully customized search engine for our users.
Right now, if you use our search box (located near the top of each page) you will see results from websites such as the West Virginia DNR, Field and Stream, Outdoor Life, and others.
As we (or you, our visitors) find other sites which should be included in our search, they will be added. This is a great way for us to help you with your search needs.
If you want to see a good example, search for Hunting Reuglations and you will see that the results are specific and return the regulations from the West Virginia DNR web site.
Just another way we're trying to serve our visitors at Chief's Place.
